ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Environmental awareness and protection is of prime concern to Wade Walker, and is considered, alongside Health, Safety and Quality Management, as an integral component of Wade Walker’s performance and commitment to promoting compliance with International Standards (ISO 14 001).
In pursuance of the highest standards of environmental care and prospecting, Wade Walker is committed to performing works and services to:

Develop appropriate environmental procedures, and to monitor their consistent implementation by accountable and adequately resourced personnel.

Comply with environment related legislative requirements which includes, but is not limited to, the Mine Health and Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996), Environmental Conservation Act (No 73 of 1989), National Environmental Management Act (No 107 of 1998), Minerals Act (No 50 of 1991), Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Act (No 45 of 1965), Hazardous substances Act (No 15 of 1973) and National Water Act (No 36 of 1998), and their respective regulations.

Comply with International Standards and more specifically ISO 14 001.

Foster awareness of shared responsibility and accountability for the environment among employees through education and training.

Co-operate with regulatory agencies, employee representatives and local communities to promote constructive interaction in environmental issues of mutual concern.

Conserve the use of energy, water and other resources through employing, whenever practical, the principal of reduction, recovery, re-use and re-cycling.

Manage waste, emissions, dust and the use of potentially harmful substances so as to prevent pollution and/or harm to the environment.

Prepare and update an Environmental Management Plan for managing environmental risks.

Manage waste strictly according to company policy and procedure, viz. the principal of reduction, recovery, re-use and re-cycling.

Establish waste dumping areas and re-cycling programmes in consultation with Project/Site Management and with the approval of relevant authorities.
